Super collapse on the horizon! 1987 all over again! OMG, everyone panic! I literally tried to stay away from X all weekend because in all honesty, there’s only so much sensationalism I can stomach.
It literally seemed and still seems like all pundits have everything figured out. That Monday will come with a humongous 1987-like crash (click HERE for a one minute animation about what happened in 1987), it was final: the market will come and give all pundits the outcome they predicted… because that’s what the market does, right? Not exactly 🙂
So anyway, Monday is now here… so what?
Some volatility but overall… meh.
We’re all still alive.
Look, I firmly believe the world is in chaos mode right now. I think that while many countries (*cough* China) were more than unfair toward the US with respect to enacting a wide range of barriers to trade in the past, the manner in which the Trump administration is going about fixing this is dangerous and kind of dumb.
I also believe “it” will eventually come.
With the pandemic panic being the previous “it” and the Great Recession being the one before that.
I’m not writing this post because I believe it’s all fine and dandy. I truly don’t.
I do however believe that when the next “it” arrives, most pundits will be caught off-guard because that’s what the market does best, it humbles you.
After the dot-com bubble, so many thought the next crisis would involve tech yet again. Well, it involved something I guess you could call the opposite of tech in many respects, it involved real estate. Then people were sure that the “it” after that would involve another home price crash… and we got the pandemic panic.
Nobody knows.
For what it’s worth, I have a PhD in economics and international affairs. I’ve published four books, with the fifth on the way. And I cannot predict how things will unfold. Neither can anyone else.
Be alert but consume less news (both mainstream and alternative media, they’re equally toxic right now) and try to retain what little sanity you have left.
Anyway, I do want to at least try to be productive today, so let’s talk business to end this article. I’m selling about 1,000 dot com domains with decent end user appeal, just sold one on Thursday for $1,765. But I need a lot more capital than that, so I’m selling in bulk.
